REP. TRAM NGUYEN WILL FIGHT FOR:
Healthcare for All
Getting in a car accident or getting sick shouldn’t bankrupt anyone. Tram knows there is an entire for-profit industry built around people’s bad luck or illness, which should never have been built in the first place. Moreover, the decision of when and how to have a family should be between individuals and their doctors. When we are all healthy, with bodily autonomy, and care we can count on, our communities can thrive. That’s why in Congress, Tram will work tirelessly to:
Transition to Medicare for All,
Codify Paid Family Medical Leave at the federal level, so parents and children can afford to bond, and provide care to one another when they need or wish to do so,
Lower prescription drug costs,
Return subsidies to low- and mid-income families,
Address food insecurity by protecting funding for SNAP,
Pass federal legislation to guarantee free, nutritious breakfast and lunch for every child in public school,
Expand USDA grants to connect local farms directly to community food pantries,
Establish a permanent, nationwide right to abortion care by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act,
Pass the Access to Family Building Act to establish a federal right to access IVF and other assisted reproductive technologies, shielding families from judicial overreach, and
Shield patients and providers from out-of-state prosecution by passing federal protections for those who travel across state lines to seek or deliver legal abortion services.
