rep. tram nguyen will Rebuild our:
Foreign Policy & Diplomacy
Tram and her family fled a war-torn country, and have first-hand experience living under authoritarian rule. Tram believes that we must stop spending U.S. tax dollars to fund illegal and rash wars, and that military intervention must be a last resort, done with Congressional approval. We must re-center diplomacy as our first line of action to protect and defend human rights and pursue the transition to democracy for those who seek it.
In Congress, Tram will work to:
Prioritize humanitarian aid and international diplomacy as our primary tools for conflict resolution, strengthening global alliances and fully funding international human rights organizations,
Reclaim Congress’ constitutional authority over war powers,
Condition all foreign military assistance on strict adherence to international law and human rights standards, ensuring American dollars never fund war crimes,
Rein in military spending, redirecting billions toward urgent domestic needs like housing, healthcare, and climate resiliency, and
Affirm the rights and freedoms of nations under attack or facing oppression, including Ukraine, Taiwan, and Tibet, defend the rights of all people to self-determination, and protect international human rights and dignity for all.
