A Proven Fighter
I've taken on tough challenges my entire life.
At just five years old, my family and I escaped an authoritarian regime and began a new life in Massachusetts.
We came with just $100 in our pockets. My parents worked day and night to build a future, and I carried that determination into everything I've done since.
The first in my family to graduate from college, I earned degrees from Tufts University, Northeastern School of Law, and the Harvard Kennedy School.
As an attorney at Greater Boston Legal Services, I dedicated my career to fighting for those too often left behind—survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, people from the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, immigrants, low-wage workers, and people with disabilities.
Before entering public office, I led the Civil Legal Assistance for Victims of Crime program at Greater Boston Legal Services.
I oversaw efforts to help victims of violence, wage theft, and exploitation rebuild their lives and find justice.
In 2018, I took that same courage and compassion to the campaign trail, flipping a deep-red district and defeating a MAGA incumbent by double digits.
Since then, I've delivered real results for Massachusetts families, passing landmark laws to combat the climate crisis, strengthen workers’ rights, and make government more accountable and inclusive.
